Snowy River Farms

Certified Free Range Chicken
Our chicken that we raise for consumption begins its first week of life in our new, draft-free coop on non-medicated feed. They are given lots of attention from us and our children as well as fruits, vegetables and grass sods to practice scratching on. When they are around two weeks old we open their coop door to allow them access to their pasture which they will be rotated on as the grass is consumed until processing. They are able to roam the pastures, scratching for bugs and minerals in the soil and are given a non-GMO grain mix during their time with us on farm. They are never given antibiotics or growth hormones.

Free Range Eggs
Our Lay flock is comprised of many different breeds of chickens including Ameraucanas, Blue Azures, Marans, Dekab, Barred Rocks, Australorps, Brown Bovans and a few mixes which we call Easter Eggers! Our birds are always allowed access to the outdoors, no matter the weather or time of year, and are fed a diet of fruits, vegetables and nonGEO grains.

Woods and Pasture Raised Hogs
The Hogs at Snowy River Farms are raised on a diet of fresh grass, vegetables, fruit, bread, and non-GMO grains (as well as the occasional spent grains from our local breweries). Our herd is rotated through the woods and pastures weekly. They are never given antibiotics, hormones or GEO growers. Our pigs are kept outside year round and provided with trees and huts for shelter, leaving them able to root and play as they would naturally in the wild. All of our sausages are made from in house recipes and use natural hog casings. Our Bacons, Hams, Delis and Pepperoni are all double smoked using real smoke, not liquid, and taste just like Grandma's Easter ham! No weird meat glue used here so shaved products are not in perfect circles!
*We are currently selling our pork as Half or Whole Hogs which are listed in January of every year and available for pick up the following November. Whole Hog spots sell incredibly fast (less than 12 hours) so if you would like to get in on our pork offerings it is best to join our waitlist which receives an email a few days before they are publicly listed!
